There was once an onion,a carrot,and a tomato who were good friends.The three of them were walking along a beach one day when a huge wave swept over and washed away the carrot!The carrot tried to swim but could not beat the current, and was badly battered by the waves before it reached the shore.As the onion and the tomato could not swim, they couldn't help their friend.The carrot landed on the shore,bruised and hurt.upon seeing their good friend in pain, the onion ans the tomato began to cry profusely.
A few days later,the onion and tomato were walking along a street.The tomato wanted to cross to the other side and skipped along the road without looking.A truck came rumnling down the road,and ran over the tomato.hurting it badly!The onion was heart-broken at this.He tried to move the tomato to safety, crying all the while.Some days after the incident, he started thinking,when the carrot got hurt,and the tomato suffered some damage,I cried for them.However,now my friends no longer roam with me, and i don't have any other friends.If i were to get hurt,who would cry for me?oh what a sad fate this is!
So saying,the onion began to pray hard to god.Hearing the onions prayers, god came down and asked him what he wanted.The onion recounted the tale of his friends and said,"I wish that i could have someone to cry for me whenever i am hurt-whether they are my friends or not!".very well,I grant you a wish.Whenever anyone cuts you,they will immediately start crying.So no matter where you are,with or without your friends. you will always have someone to cry for you!"replied god.The onion was happy and this is why we always cry when we chop onions!
